These resources have been thoughtfully compiled to provide comprehensive support for the Afghan community, spanning from local services to insightful literature, affirming their experiences and addressing their needs.

Mental Health Services (WA/Seattle)

  • Lutheran Community Services Northwest: They offer refugee resettlement and services including counseling, psychiatry, group therapy, and assimilation therapy.

  • Sound Health (Northgate): They offer Behavioral Health Services, Crisis Services, Multicultural Counseling Services, Vocational Services, Rehabilitation Services, Counseling, Psychiatry and Group Therapy. 

  • Sea Mar Community Health Centers: They offer behavioral health services and many other services with multiple locations in the state. Great resources. They will be able to guide you towards specific resources for Afghan needs.

National & Online Resources

  • Crisis Services: Text or call 988 if in crisis

  • SAMHSA’s National Helpline: Call 1-800-662-HELP (4357) for 24/7, 365-day-a-year service. This is a confidential, free helpline for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. They can provide referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations.
